you guys didn't demonstrate the fleshlight attatchment
Finally some real handjob simulation
I remember seeing this thing at Microcenter years ago. Was interesting to play with, but I am glad I didn't spend the $200 to get it.
Take a shot for every nuance
Ultimate door knob simulator
Great idea, just needed better technology. A lot like the Power Glove in that regard.
Prototype wii remote
I found new ones for sale…?
It looks really cool, but fragile as all hell. I have a feeling that it is so intricate and difficult to repair that once something on it breaks you are 100% fucked.
Gimmicky is as gimmicky does
Show us the kung-fu grip.
Maybe some Japanese subway fondling games. Or a pickpocket simulator.
Use the fleshlight addon
I remember seeing this thing in the TigerDirect catalog about 15 years ago. I wanted one so bad.
Can you guys try fortnite and see if this works , if so I'm gonna buy one
Got to use this in 2009. Loved it. Wish they kept working on it and improving it
It was before VR. And also before full dive simulated machine VR.
Ohh I have one! I actually won it in one of the TF2 competition that they had almost a decade ago. It's a neat thing. My only regret is throwing out the box. These guys were very active in Valve's forums.
I've used one of these before when I had a private tour of a tech company in my local town. It was pretty awesome to experience. I remember feeling the surface of a rigged orb from a demo.
I remember seeing this thing in the Battlefield 2 controls menu and thinking "what the hell is that orb?".
We need more docked controllers with gimmicks
looks like it should be natural for portal
i mean seriously it reminds me of a portal gun
I remember that thing
Why is there no amazon link?
Man, I've had one of these forever, and you sum it up right "I love it to death, i want to love it more for playing games though"
I wonder if it’s compatible with the sixsense pack for portal 2
Damn that thing is strange looking.
But can you play Doom with it?
Fairly certain that this was used for long distance VR sex but with real ppl. Like advanced phone sex or something. Unfortunately the first time I seen this it had a dildo attached to it lol.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the calibration issues were caused by the constant jerking from the gun recoil. that seems like something that would throw its center off if it was constant enough. that and potentially having to re-zero itself after lifting things? that seems less likely to me though.the reason I feel like the former is the reason is because the 3DS has the same issue with its AR gyroscope. if left far enough away from its initial "home" position, it seems to forget it, and make a new one near where its currently at.(mind you this is just a guess based on personal experience with something vaguely similar. i don't know the ins and outs of how this stuff works)
3:43 Grabbing balls, feeling balls… and it's apparently messy… I know there's a joke here somewhere, but I'm too tired to figure out what it is. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
that's awesome I want one
Just as the moment you said it, I thought "an adapted version of this would be great for VR". Maybe an inverted version that you wear on your arm that "pulls" back against your hand?
I remember when these came out and wanted one pretty badly to develop games for but it was just simply out of my price range back then.
Use this with VR
NASA should use it.
Some ingenious devs were able to turn a pair of these into interactive sex toys, where one with a dildo attached is able to translate the movement of the other over the internet.
Fascinating concept. Looks ideal for 3D modelling and interaction, but seems like it needs some development for gaming.
But does it come with the fleshlight grip?
if you get a few of them together you can attach them to a suit in a vr room, for body movement
11:01 We need Garris Vakarian for this one
I remember seeing abunch of these while cleaning out a closet of a college I used to work at as IT. They were too big to take home and so we had to just throw then away along with a box full of nvidia 3d glasses
I can't wait for you to be in the millions of subs man
It's weird seeing someone just now finding out about this in 2019I've known of this device since way back in the battlefield 2 days circa 2007They had a lot of support for this device for battlefield 2, you should check it out
Looks like a portal gun
"Any kind of game you have to put stuff places…" Most boring game genre ever possible just invented on this day of our lord May 2nd, 2019 Amen
I did the beta testing on these back quite a few years ago when they first came out. It’s was pretty slick at the time.First thing I told them was “Make a pistol grip!” Which they did. They’ve been used as props in several movies. (For obvious reasons).
My brother got one of these for Christmas about a decade ago. I still remember him playing tf2 with it. It's still sitting in our basement, but we sadly lost all the cords, box and manuals for it.
Nice to see DrunkenMasterPaul again!
My school bought like 5 of these things, and I don't think they ever used them…
Japan: Let's put a pocket vagina on it and play vr sex.
Or you could do🤘🙏👊's
This looks fking cool
nice piece of hardware congrats
I used to work at microcenter and played with this thing over 10 years ago. Interesting idea
That's really awesome, I wonder if you could use it for 3D modeling?
til it up and it would be the perfect directional throttle for a space sim.
Looks like he is playing portal on something from apature sience
N U A N C E D
Got to use it once at a convention playing half life 2
aw man i really wanted one of these back when it was originally coming out. unfortunately i was only 13 at the time and would have never been able to convince my parents to buy me one 🙁
I WANT ONE!
Shit, this doesn't even feel like it was that long ago. I remember this with Half Life 2 support and the like.
I remember using one of these years ago at a science and tech expo/convention type thingy and it was used to show how heavy different objects were in different gravities. My 12 year old self was pretty fucking amazed
this video looks like it came strait from 2012
I had one of these
I really wanted one of these when they came out, but price was just too much for how little it was supported. Microcenter had them on display so you could try them and it was pretty neat. Speaking of strange game controllers, have you ever seen or used the Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander, Freestyle Pro or Game Voice? I have all three and should bust them out sometime to see how they have held up 20ish years later. 🙂
98% Bratwurst und 2% Sauerkraut!
Haptic devices hasn’t developed since 2008 ish. Because of the reasons shown here. It’s kind of sad I use it for surgical simulation where it works great..
Imagine adding this feature to a Xbox or PlayStation controllers joysticks
I love this channel
I think the calibration error could be related to that you don’t have the base stable enough to prevent the unit from moving. Or it could be that your position of the controller is at the edge of its range of motion and when the game sends a signal to move past the range it loses its relative position?
An updated version would be awesome for star citizen
I remember seeing devices like this used by some 3d modelers in some behind the scenes stuff from a LONG time ago, way before the WII. Very cool product.
Don't watch unless you know what the word nuance means
Oh nice a Novint falcon. i have one of those. still works great. i have the pistol attachment and the clear one. i love playing TF2 with it. the heavy's mini gun is insane.
Welp time to make 200 feet tall robot while using thia control…
I saw this product come to life, I supported the company from the beginning. It's truly a unique gadget, especially for gaming. I have moved on to VR now, but I still have a couple of these Falcons laying around.
This but miniaturized maybe in a glove or exoskeleton suit for VR °
I remember when this thing came out. Everyone was making fun of it.
That could be fun for space sims
I had the opportunity to play with one of those at quake con 2k6. It was a simple demo that showed off several spheres. One with gravity (it pulled the controller towards the surface of the sphere) one with anti gravity (pushed the control away) and several with no gravity so that you could experience different textures with it. It was pretty darn incredible and i had no idea that it was ever released.
My school has one tucked away in some cupboard lol
Just give me something that'll let virgins like me touch boobs.
Check out the move …the Meg…about 13 minutes in….they are using this controller to control a under water Rover…lol
Always happy when you release videos like this to drive up the price of already low supplies cries
the reason the calibration kept getting out of sync is because you're controlling a 3D camera with an input device that can only do 2D input. it's the same as when you're playing a PC game and you pick up your mouse and drop it in the center of your mouse pad, you do that because your mouse pointer is in the center of your screen but the mouse is at the edge of your mouse pad.
Hey guys I am rewatching the movie The Meg. You see this controller in the movie near the beginning. A guy is using it to drive a rover on the ocean floor. Obviously it's a prop but it's cool prop to use.
I had to try making a demo with one of these in Unity a few months ago. It was absolute hell.
Bad word to choose…for a fanmanic of weird equipment 😂
"I'm gonna play that a little bit for you… BUTT-FIRST!"I mean, whatever floats your boat.
oh wow, I tested that back in 2001, it was during a Siggraph convention and it was to test out the surface while rendering out modeled. And that was back when 3D Printers were the size of xerox machines.
Crysis also had native support for this. I'd really like to see some demonstration of it.
I have one. Bought it yearssss ago. Haven’t used it in forever. Was looking online to see if they are still around or have any value and came across this video. Hmmm…would anyone buy it? Probs not. I’m the trash it goes I guess. Cost me nearly $1000AUD back in the day with shipping. Had my fun. 🙂
I used to have one of these..was awesome. In one of the penumbra games you could press a button and a small ball would appear, allowing you to roll it on surfaces like walls mattresses etc and "feel" the surface. Not to mention other games like shooters with recoil.
